Scan is a monitoring system for the mass media by Russia’s leading information agency Interfax that was created for PR managers and specialists in risks and safety of companies.

To stand apart in the competitive environment of similar products devoid of visual attraction and to convey its messages to the audience in a more emotional and exciting way, a necessity arose to develop a corporate style with a lively development and advertising possibilities.

Developed system of the dynamic brand identity was based on the key feature of the product. Unlike traditional search engines, the operating principle of Scan is that it analyses and yields one specific link the specialist is looking for, instead of a million of different links.

We employed a simple metaphor to demonstrate this principle: information is everything that surrounds us. Sometimes even an item that is not the most obvious one may be what you are looking for. Scan search engine system turns the desired information into a “link” you receive as a product.

At the pre-sales stage, the managers of Scan required printed information materials that would explain the operating principles of the product. Brochures and booklets contained dry information on technical matters, therefore we gave special attention to the appearance of these materials.

In addition to being actively used as advertising images, the visual metaphor “link” found its place in the design of other corporate style media as well.
