Cosmomedica brand of cosmetic products was founded by Dr. Elena Kondrasheva, a dermatologist and cosmetologist. Together with a team of biochemists and technologists, she created a comprehensive skincare system rooted in the fundamental principles of skin rejuvenation. Today, the company offers over 40 products, both basic and advanced, developed at its own laboratory and manufactured at its facilities. Cosmomedica is represented by 30 stores in 25 cities across Russia, with an international presence in 47 countries.

The brand’s philosophy is grounded not in a vague “youth formula,” but in the use of highly effective ingredients from leading global labs, which are used to create cosmetic products that really work. Cosmomedica positions itself as a unique combination of dermatological science and skincare. This approach is encapsulated in its slogan: “Real science. Fantastic skin.”

The name Cosmomedica can be interpreted in two ways: Cosmetic + Medicine or Cosmos + Medicine. Both interpretations capture the essence of the brand. The key idea is reflected in the space metaphor, which became the cornerstone for the visual and semantic identity.

The space theme provides endless opportunities in identity development, as endless as the concept of space itself. This metaphor works on all levels of communication, from messages and graphic language to infographics, color palette, and photostyles.

Inspired by the brand’s pioneering spirit, the name and signature style embody the brand’s futuristic image. The logo includes a symbol that is associated with both a cosmic star and a medical cross, bringing together science and aesthetics.

The infographics that illustrate the efficacy of active ingredients stem from the aesthetics of scientific diagrams and technical illustrations. Straightforward references to formulas used in labs and engineering graphics emphasize the brand’s rationality and science-based approach. The fluid, fine lines complement other design elements, serving as a flexible graphic base and a recognizable visual asset in the brand’s communications.

The signature RF Dewi font strikes a balance between expression and functionality. Its versatile design makes it suitable for all typesetting styles since it conveys a solid and confident vibe in large headlines while remaining neutral and perfectly legible in small lettering.

Minimalistic packaging design evokes the image of succinct scientific extracts and a sterile lab environment. Complex product information, typically found on the back of packages, has been replaced with concise and clear description on the front. It contains only the essential details, the proven clinical efficacy, and scientific expertise.

The color palette emphasizes the brand’s inclusive nature. It does not involve chromatic colors and features a combination of black, white, and cool shades of gray. Such a solution focuses attention on the warm color palette of the photographic content that revolves around the human figure.

The brand’s concept is clearly visible in the design of its retail outlets. The interior design is based on the reimagined Space Age style, a futuristic movement from the 1960s and 1970s inspired by space exploration.

This whimsical aesthetic features smooth, organic forms and an abundance of plastic, metal, and glass, creating an ambiance reminiscent of an orbital station or a futuristic home.

The model embodies modern skincare values, including authenticity, natural beauty, and healthy skin, while being a perfect fit for the brand’s overall communication style.

It was essential to stay within the beauty category while avoiding clichéd looks. Clear photo style guidelines and strict casting requirements allowed us to create images that reflect the individuality and unique spirit of the Cosmomedica brand.
